Brian Endlein, Band Director
Brian Endlein has been a music educator in Delaware for the past ?eight years. He spent his first six years teaching Instrumental Music at William Penn High School in New Castle, Delaware before becoming the band director at Middletown High School. A graduate of North Penn High School and West Chester University, Mr. Endlein is no stranger to the marching arts world. He has worked and consulted with several competitive and non-competitive outdoor and indoor programs across the tri-state area. His efforts in this field have earned him national recognition as one of School Band & Orchestra magazine's Directors That Make a Difference" as well as having his programs featured in The Instrumentalist magazine.
In addition to his job as a music educator, Mr. Endlein also serves his country through music as a member of the 78th Army Band (U.S. Army Reserves) which is stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. As a Staff Sergeant, his current duty assignment has him playing in several ensembles to include our??? concert band, ceremonial band, marching band, stage band, and a traditional jazz/New Orleans style jazz group named "Fort Dix-ie-land". He is also the NCOIC of the Music Library and serves as one of the enlisted conductors for the band.
Emma Dressler
Emma Dressler has been marching for eight years starting under Mr. Endlein and continuing at University of Delaware with Heidi I. Sarver. For four of her eight years in marching band, she was on the student field staff. Emma is currently an elementary special education student at University of Delaware and is student teaching in the Appoquinimink school district during her fifth and final year at University of Delaware.
Jane Parker
Mrs. Jane Parker has been involved in dancing and/or competitive color guard for over forty-five years. Starting dance classes at the age of five, Mrs. Parker continued through college choreographing and performing throughout the Delaware Valley area. In high school she started performing in color guard and competitive marching band. She attended West Chester University earning her BSEd (Social Studies Education) and MA (History) degrees, while she performed in the flag and rifle line of the Golden Ram Marching Band for five seasons. During her college years, she also spent three years performing with Threshold Indoor Color Guard (a WGI World Class Independent Color Guard of Pennsylvania) and one year with Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps of Casper, Wyoming.
Since college, Mrs. Parker has choreographed and instructed various award winning high school and collegiate groups throughout the Mid-Atlantic area (including Middletown High School in 2004 and 2005). In recent years, her focus moved beyond color guard and toward the overall visual general effect of the entire marching band ensemble. Mrs. Parker absolutely loves this activity and is forever grateful for all the opportunities that it has provided – after all she met her husband, Dr. Parker while teaching at another Delaware high school! She currently teaches Social Studies at Middletown High School and is excited to return to actively instructing with Dr. Parker and teaching the joys of the activity to the next generation of MHS students, which includes her daughter Courtney.
Dr. Carlton Parker
Dr. Carlton Parker is a semi-retired administrator from the Appoquinimink School District with vast musical experience in various media. He has taught competitive marching units throughout the states of Delaware, New Jersey and West Virginia. Dr. Parker has experienced marching band at many levels starting with his own high school experience at Woodbridge High School, spanning undergraduate and graduate work, and continuing into his current experience at as a staff member at Middletown High School. Dr. Parker is also a past member of the National Judges Association where he judged competitive marching bands throughout the Tournament of Bands circuit.
Included in Dr. Parker’s various academic degrees are an Associate of Arts Degree in Music and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. His academic career spans 35 years of teaching at various levels. Dr. Parker has performance experience at various forms throughout the United States, Europe and Africa.
Dr. Parker still performs today and enjoys the splendor of communicating through music. It remains instrumental in his life and continues to drive decisions for himself, his wife, Jane; a Social Studies Teacher at Middletown High School, and his daughter; Courtney, a Middletown High School student.
Lars Jensen
Lars Jensen is a science educator in the colonial school district. Lars marched baritone through college in the University of Delaware Fighting Blue Hen marching band where he was a drill captain and rank leader. Lars previously marched at William Penn High School.
