Our Chapter’s Banquet is how we spend the evening before our Chapter’s competition; our marching band playoffs. It sets the tone and prepares the students for a long day of rehearsal and competition. For anyone who is unfamiliar with the Chapter’s Banquet ,it’s a gathering where band students, staff and the parents of seniors will enjoy a dinner prepared by volunteers. Seniors will each get a chance to share stories of their time in the band and pictures and videos will be displayed for the group—usually ending in some tears! Parents of freshmen, sophomores and juniors may volunteer to work at this dinner to honor the seniors and their parents in their last Chapter’s competition. Parents of seniors are NOT allowed to volunteer for this one—sit back and enjoy it!
This year the Chapter’s Banquet will be the night before the Chapter’s Competition. We will need someone (preferably a parent of a sophomore or junior, who may have a better idea of what’s involved) to take the lead for finalizing the menu and other arrangements. Volunteers are also needed to donate food, cook, serve and clean up. This is a fun event to volunteer for! Work is pretty light and the only way to find out what happens at a Chapter’s Banquet until your child is a senior!
